Artist Nights
Wednesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 31, from 5-9:00 pm
The Southern California chapter of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, in association with the Institute for Plastination and the California Science Center, is sponsoring two Artist Nights in the BODY WORLDS 3 exhibition, on Wednesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 31.
Bring your sketchbooks! Bring your paints! Even bring your easels! Get up close to real human bodies and organs like you've never seen them before. In addition to the human plastinates, which BODY WORLDS is known for, there will be several live nude models. The models will pose next to the plastinates, allowing you to see both the inside and the outside of the human body simultaneously! Don't miss this amazing opportunity for anatomical illustration. And as an added bonus, you can explore the new ostrich plastinate and 16 foot tall giraffe plastinate, just added to the exhibition.
Tickets for this special event are only available on-site at the California Science Center box office. Click here to download a coupon for $2 off the normal ticket price, and if you purchase tickets to both Artist Nights you will get a free BODY WORLDS poster.
In order to provide an atmosphere conducive to drawing, tickets to the exhibit will be limited, and all artists must be 18 years or older. Also, all artists will be required to sign a sketching agreement. Please click here to download the sketching agreement and fill it out in advance, to speed entry into the exhibition.
The doors open at 5:00 pm (no admission after 7:30), and the gallery will remain open until 9:00 pm, giving us a full four hours to sit and draw (limited seating will be provided).

Directions:
The California Science Center is located in Exposition Park, South of Downtown Los Angeles. The parking entrance is at Figueroa and 39th Street. Parking is $6 per car (cash only). More in depth directions can be found here.
